I think we can all agree that your venue choice is a big part of planning your wedding… but here’s why it actually matters.
A venue does more than just look nice. It changes the light, sets the pace of the day, and really affects how everything flows. It also sets the tone for your photos! When the space feels like “you,” the images end up feeling natural and easy.

It also reminded me that this is true for every newborn session I photograph. There is so much love, anticipation, and intention poured into these homes long before baby arrives. And then one little babe shows up and totally completes the picture (and naturally steals the show 😉)

I’ve had the absolute honor of capturing Ben & Hannah’s biggest moments since 2021 – from engagement, to wedding, to their first years of marriage, to a long-awaited pregnancy, and now the arrival of sweet baby Camden 🤍
Being invited into their home for newborn photos and seeing so many of the images we’ve created together hanging on their walls was such a full-circle moment for me. I never take the job of preserving your memories lightly, this stuff truly matters to me.

Morning engagement session… yes, really 😉✨ Early sessions can get a bad rap, but golden hour isn’t just an evening thing. In fact, about half of my sessions have that early wake up call!
Morning sessions have a special kind of magic! Soft light, fewer distractions, a slow pace (plus a little coffee to wake us up ☕️) They are truly some of my faves!

It’s been a long time since my brand truly felt like me and the work I create. You know how it goes, one thing gets put on the back burner and suddenly… years pass 😅 As a former graphic design girly, I cringed a little every time I sent someone to my website or signed an email with my old logo (dramatic? yes. accurate? also yes 🙋♀️).
One of my biggest goals this year was to realign my brand with what KTP has grown into – intentional, inviting, and joyful. And naturally, I waited until the very last day of the year to launch it 😂 BUT IT’S HERE!!!!
Enter my sister, the incredibly talented @izzygstudio , who somehow knew exactly what I needed. She designed my new favorite logo EVER, created a color palette that perfectly complements my editing, and brought everything together in a way that feels so aligned and intentional. Shameless plug because she deserves it—she’s amazing at what she does and just graduated with her graphic design degree from Mizzou. Hire her. Truly. 👏

Choosing your bridesmaids? A few things to keep in mind:
💗 Choose connection over obligation. Pick the people who truly show up for you (not just the ones you feel you “should” include)
💗 Think long-term. These photos last a lifetime!! Choose friends who will still feel like family 20 years down the road!
💗 Smaller can be sweeter. A big group isn’t a must. It’s about meaning, not numbers!

Callahan ran around, explored & made silly faces in typical 2-year-old fashion. And guess what? That’s exactly what made the session so magical. ✨
With littles, it’s never about perfect poses (they can be hard to come by sometimes!) It’s about meeting them where they’re at, chasing the giggles, and catching those real, joy-filled moments along the way.
As your photog, I don’t complete fight the chaos! It’s about embracing it and capturing your family in exactly the season you’re in!

What a wedding! Not going to be over this day for a while! Riley & Jack’s wedding was filled with so much love, laughter, and happy tears—plus a little extra wind for dramatic veil moments (thank you, nature).

Take it from a mom who now has a 2 year old & baby - capturing in-home newborn photos with a toddler can be a little unpredictable! It will 1000% look different than taking newborn photos with your first baby!
My best tips to you:
1️⃣ Embrace the Chaos - Not every shot will be picture-perfect, and that’s okay! They will absolutely capture YOUR fam the way you are in this season! That is what I aim my newborn sessions to be! And trust me, it will create the photos that give you the best memories!!!
2️⃣ Trust you photog!!! - I can’t tell you how many times I leave a session where parents are worried they don’t get one “good” photo (and are surprised when they get back a full gallery of them!) We know how to get the in between moments - relax, soak in the time with you little kids & know that your photog is directing you in the best way!
One year ago today we were eating pizza on the steps of the capitol 🍕 and celebrating the marriage of the very best & goofiest couple! Happy anni Syd & Carson!!!
Our Case Monkey is TWO!!!!
The time has gone by incredibly fast. We are in awe of the kid God is shaping Case to be. He is happy, silly, caring & creative. He loves getting to the bottom of how things work and is so much fun to be around! He has fallen right into the big brother role this year and is all about giving Logan constant hugs & kisses. He’s talking more and more and is really starting to tell us exactly what he is thinking!
Our house is always messy, busy & loud thanks to Case! We wouldn’t trade this time for anything. We thank God that we get to be his parents!!! “He’s just the best” is a phrase we say to each other daily!
I wanted to capture some of Case’s favorite things to remember this season! Legos, markers, trucks, dinosaurs & books are the things we live by in this household!
Senior photo tip of the day:
👏Bring 👏The 👏Props 👏
Truly I think props get SUCH a bad rep with senior photos. And I get it!! You think props and think super cheesy, over posed & awkward photos 🫣
But take it from Tillie! Just three props brought so much personality & variety to 15 minute field photos.
In her bag of tricks:
💐 Flowers!!! I think every kind of session could benefit from some fresh blooms
🪑A vintage chair! Obsessed with this & it added so much variety to the poses we could do!
🎉 Confetti!!! Always a hit. Just make sure to get biodegradable versions if you want to pop it outside!
